Port Harcourt—The latest scholarship beneficiaries of the Sambo Foundation established by HRH Samuel Sambo, Amadabo of Sambo Ama in Twon Brass Kingdom of Bayelsa State have lauded the monarch for his benevolence and good gesture.
Mangrovepen.ng gathered that the ten students were randomly selected during the monarch’s 60th birthday celebration in August.
In keeping to the promise, the Sambo Foundation on Wednesday paid N250,000, each to the ten lucky students.
One of the beneficiaries, Ebi Dressman, in a chat with our reporter, expressed gratitude to HRH Sambo for his generosity, saying that he is honoured to have been selected to be a recipient of the scholarship.
Dressman who hails from Opu-Nembe in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State admitted that the scholarship was of great help to him, praying for God to keep the idea behind the scholarship scheme alive.
“My sincere appreciation to HRH Samuel Sambo for his selfless contribution to my education through the Sambo Foundation. I feel honoured and grateful to have been selected as a recipient.
“I thank His Royal Highness for the generosity in funding this scholarship. It is a great help to me financially, especially in these uncertain times and I pray God gives the monarch more opportunities to keep this lofty idea going,” he said.
Another beneficiary who goes by the name Inanumo Precious Ayebakarina thanked the monarch for what she described as a help to her academic life and also prayed for God’s blessings upon the traditional ruler and his family.
An elated Godsgift Yousuo, a beneficiary, equally expressed gratitude to HRH Sambo, saying “thank you is not enough for me to express how grateful I am for the support towards my academics and wellbeing.
On his part, Okiente Paganebo Saidui who hails from Egweama in Brass LGA, appreciated the traditional ruler for the opportunity given to him and other beneficiaries.
He lauded the philanthropic royal father for his dedication and readiness to help the needy
In his words; “I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation for the support and help HRH Samuel Sambo provided and also for his dedication, attention, open-mindedness and readiness to help with a very prompt response.”
Similarly, Inatimi Erepagamo thanked the monarch and the management of the Sambo Foundation for the kind gesture and prayed for the monarch to “live long as you do good to others, and may your foundation reach its peak.”
The 10 students constitute the 4th batch of beneficiaries of the Sambo Foundation educational scholarship scheme.
