No vacancy in Creek Haven, Diri will stay in office till 2028, Domkpee declares

Yenagoa—A special assistant on new media to the Bayelsa State Governor, Mr. John Domkpee has said there is no vacancy in Creek Haven, Bayelsa’s seat of power.

“Governor Douye Diri deserves a second term by virtue of his outstanding performance and he will by God’s grace hold sway till 2028.

“It will therefore turn out to be a waste of precious time and limited resources for those contesting the governorship seat with him,” Domkpee opined in a press statement sent to journalists via WhatsApp on Sunday.

The governor’s aide advised supporters of other candidates, especially the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Timipre Sylva, not to be deceived as Bayelsa remains a PDP state.

His words: “Despite our political differences, I still care about our brothers and sisters on the other side, particularly the few supporters of Sylva because there is no way they can win.

“They should not be deceived by their leaders to have false hope so they can be able to withstand the heartbreak awaiting them after their imminent defeat.

“Bayelsa is traditionally a PDP state. Things are made worse for the opposition because the incumbent Governor, my dear principal, has performed way above par to earn another four years.”

Domkpee argued that Sylva neither has a good track record nor integrity to lead Bayelsa to the promised land.

He argued that the former minister’s governorship ambition was motivated by selfish reasons and not a desire to improve the living standard of Bayelsans.

“I am happy that eligible Bayelsans who are seeing the great works of the Governor are determined to cast their votes for the PDP on November 11.

“Bayelsa can’t be ruled again by a leader who only cares about himself and his immediate family. We are satisfied with Diri who has shown great love for all Bayelsans,” he concluded.
