Ex-Bayelsa acting governor is dead

Yenagoa—A former acting Governor of Bayelsa State, Rt. Hon. Nestor Binabo has reportedly died.

According to Naijalive TV, the news was made public by his son, Mr. Binabo Momos who posted via his WhatsApp status.

“I thought you’ll pull through, Dad. But God knows best,” he posted.

A source close to the family said Binabo who had been battling with an ailment for over a year died in an undisclosed hospital in Abuja at about 4.00 am on Thursday, 29th of June.

The late Binabo, a classroom teacher who later joined politics, briefly served as the acting governor between 27th January 2012 to 14th February 2012.

He also served as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Until his death, Binabo was a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
