Again! HRH Sambo gives 250,000 each to 20 Bayelsa students, tasks them to shun vices

Port Harcourt—HRH Samuel Sambo, Amadabo of Sambo Ama in Twon Brass Kingdom of Bayelsa State Thursday gave N250,000 each to beneficiaries of his educational scholarship scheme.

The beneficiaries numbering up to twenty were given bank cheques to pay their tuition and other fees for this year’s academic session.

Mangrovepen.ng recalls that last year the beneficiaries received the same amount as the first tranche and have been receiving N5,000 as monthly stipends.

Speaking at the programme in Port Harcourt on Thursday, Mr. Temple Sambo Jnr., coordinator of the programme, hinted that the students will continue to benefit from the scholarship till they graduate.

He admonished them to make good use of the opportunity by studying hard to graduate with high grades.

According to him, the programme which is for both undergraduate and postgraduate students will incorporate another batch of students into the scheme in no distant time.

“The reason for the scholarship is to contribute to the educational development of Sambo-Ama in particular and Twon Brass Kingdom in general.

“His Royal Highness has always been a big promoter of education and this is not the first time he is giving scholarships to eligible youths in the community,” he further said.

He said the monarch has always believed education to be the bedrock of the development of any society, hence his efforts to see to the education of his people.

On their part, the elated beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture as well as poured encomiums on the royal father.

They promised to be of good conduct, saying they will not be involved in any activity that will jeopardize their educational pursuits.

The students equally offered prayers for Sambo to remain blessed, healthy to continue adding value to lives in Twon Brass, Bayelsa and Nigeria in general.
