Late Pa Diri groomed a selfless leader, Sylva mourns with Gov. Diri over father’s demise

Governor Diri embracing late Pa Diri

Yenagoa—Various leaders have been sending in condolences following the passing of Pa Abraham Diri, the father of Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State.

The recent commiseration is from the Technical Adviser to the Bayelsa State Governor on Special Duties (East), Hon. Nathaniel Ngo Sylva.

“Pa Diri was a blessing to the people of Bayelsa for grooming a gentle, selfless leader (Douye Diri) who is prudently managing the resources of the state and has made life more meaningful for all Bayelsans,” says Sylva in a condolence message sent to Mangrovepen.ng on Monday.

According to him, “Just like the Bible says that only a good tree produces good fruit, Pa Diri being a good man birthed and produced a good son who has grown to be a rare gem that inspires us for good.

“The sound character, integrity and excellent governance style of our Miracle Governor make it evident that his late dad was indeed a man of wisdom and integrity who did his parenting job well.”

Sylva said Bayelsans, and not only the Diri family, will miss Pa Diri, a retired headmaster, who reportedly passed on yesterday at the age of 88 years.

“For us in Bayelsa East,” says Sylva, “we feel sad over the demise of Governor Diri’s beloved father. We commiserate with our Principal and his entire family for the painful loss, knowing how the counsel of Pa Diri was most needed as we continue on the path to Prosperity.”

While urging the entire Diri Family and the people of Kolokuma/Opokuma to remain strong and see Pa Diri’s departure as the will of God, the technical adviser prayed to God to accept the soul of the late octogenarian.
