Sambo laments impact of flood, to support Twon Brass indigenes living in Yenagoa with cash

Port Harcourt—The paramount ruler of Sambo-Ama in Twon Brass Kingdom, Bayelsa State, HRH Samuel Sambo has lamented the devastating effect of this year’s flood, saying the deaths and displacement of people arising from the hazard have caused him great pain.

The Bayelsa monarch in a statement made available to Mangrovepen.ng on Friday described the flood situation in the country especially in Bayelsa state as a humanitarian crisis.

Sambo, however, expressed gratitude to government at all levels, well-meaning individuals, churches, and politicians for their efforts to mitigate the impact of the hazard which has claimed hundreds of lives and left thousands homeless.

The monarch pledged to support indigenes of Twon Brass kingdom residing in Yenagoa who have been affected by the flood with cash donations.

He directed that “Affected persons should therefore call my aide, Mr. Temple Sambo Jnr., on 08169143075, 08120685461 who will be collating names for the forthcoming cash distribution.”

Sambo further advised that while the government is doing its best to ameliorate the sufferings of the people, well-meaning individuals must also give financial, moral and other support till things go back to normal.
