Brass—A youth leader from Liama in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Comr. Ayewubaka Julius has donated a set of musical instruments to youths in his community.
Julius in a chat with mangrovepen.ng said the gesture is his little way of giving back to his community and a way of empowering the youths.
He said he was particularly moved by the fact that the youths in the community have to always hire musical instruments to play whenever there is an event or ceremony.
“The project is giving back to the society in my small way. And also to make youths of my community happy.
“It is something they don’t have in the community. They go to other communities to hire and sometimes invite other groups to come to play for them in burials and other ceremonies.
“So I felt gifting them the musical instruments will empower and enable them to earn little income on their own,” he said.
Mr. Ngolayefa Bosiy, Director of the Liama Youth Traditional Band extolled Ayewubaka for giving back to the community and prayed to God to replenish his pocket.
