Abuja—Major Dennis Des-Dokubo (rtd), former chief security officer and Senior Special Assistant to the ex-Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah (rtd) was one of the recipients of the Distinguished Recognition Awards 2022 by the Nigerian Military School (NMS) Ex-Boys Association (EXBA) National.
Mangrovepen.ng gathered that the award was in appreciation of his commitment, passion and benevolence towards the alma mater.
Shortly after receiving the award at the maiden edition of the Ex-Boys Congress and Award night yesterday in Abuja, Des-Dokubo described the award as a great honour and a proud moment for him and his family.
Des-Dokubo who is the Chairman of the Bayelsa State Chapter of NMS EXBA noted that the Nigerian Military made him who he is today, adding that “the training, was and remains the foundation, upon which I have continued to build on.
“I feel proud to be associated with one of the most respected military institutions in the world, which made me who I am today.”
He commended the efforts of the military in the ongoing fight against insurgency in the country, noting that the military is doing well in neutralizing insurgents and their vile attacks on the Nigerian people.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the National President of the NMS Ex-Boys Association, Engr. Femi Ikuponiyi stated that the school remains the only true institution in the country that keeps producing leaders across Nigeria.
He described the NMS Ex-Boys Association as a group of like-minded, united, success-driven patriotic Nigerians, who are detribalized and pan-Nigerian.
Ikuponiyi advised members of the association to continuously put effort and resources together to keep the vision of the Nigerian Armed Forces alive and contribute to Nation building in all facets of the Country.
