Yenagoa—The special assistant new media to the Bayelsa State government, Vure Kingsley Ovonix Snr has apologized to former President Goodluck Jonathan for maligning him while he was in office.
Vure, who stated this in his birthday message to Jonathan which was obtained by mangrovepen.ng, said he was misled to join the bandwagon of implacable critics of the former president.
The media aide noted that he was told a lie and believed that Gen. Muhammadu Buhari now the incumbent President was the messianic reformer of the country.
He added that henceforth his loyalty is to the Niger Delta and her people while wishing Jonathan a happy 64th birthday.
The birthday message reads thus: “My greatest regret was the way I was lured and deceived to torment Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in 2015. I couldn’t control my emotions and joined the bandwagon to terrorize his image. They sold Buhari to us like a messiah on the rescue.
“Sadly and regretfully I apologize with all my heart. They say it is Politics but I never knew the complexity of a minority manning a position was a crime. I’ve learnt my mistakes and lessons.
“Henceforth be it a devil in human form, so long you are a southerner no matter the gravity of offence I would stand with my full chest in support.
“Nigeria itself is a scam, hence, my advocacy is to protect our people irrespective of the party would remain tough especially those from Niger Delta extraction.
“I’m sorry Mr. President. Happy 64th Birthday.”
