Diri runs an all-inclusive government to develop every part of Bayelsa, says appointee

Yenagoa—The technical adviser (east) to the Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Nathaniel Ngo Sylva has commended Governor Douye Diri for his drive to harness the agricultural potentials of the state.

Sylva made the statement shortly after the state government disclosed that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a foreign investor, Mr. Georgious Goulas of the African Atlantic Gulf of Guinea Fisheries (AAGGF).

Mangrovepen.ng gathered that AAGGF will set up a massive offshore aquaculture farm, fish processing plant, and a boat-building yard across the three senatorial districts.

It was disclosed that Nembe, Okpoama and Twon-Brass were among the communities chosen for the projects.

Sylva commended the governor for including communities in Bayelsa East in the projects, adding that it proves the governor is running an all-inclusive government aimed at developing the nooks and crannies of the state.

The former chairman of Brass local government council noted that the projects which are said to create over 4,000 jobs will bring respite to the teeming unemployed youths in the state.

The technical Adviser to the governor equally advised youths particularly in Bayelsa East to seize the opportunity and get themselves meaningfully engaged.

According to him, “Governor Douye Diri deserves commendation for his tireless efforts in trying to harness the great agricultural potentials of the state.

“Recently he was out in faraway Greece to attract investors to invest in the state. That, for me, is a governor that is working for the betterment of his people.

“Also, I want to specifically commend the governor for considering some communities in Bayelsa East as possible destinations for siting the planned aquacultural projects.

“It only goes to show that he is an all-inclusive governor who wants to make sure every part of Bayelsa is developed. He has done well, to be frank.”

Sylva continued, “These are the kind of investments we want in Bayelsa state; the ones that will create thousands of jobs for our youths.

“I am so excited and looking forward to this project. I hope the youths are equally excited and seize the opportunities that the project would bring.”
