Wike orders arrest of Atiku’s ally, threatens to ‘crush’ anyone working with Secondus

Port Harcourt—Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has ordered the arrest of a member of the House of Representatives, Chinyere Igwe.

DailyPost reports that Igwe is a cousin to Austin Opara, who is a supporter of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.

The lawmaker is said to be the owner of a filling station in Diobu, Port Harcourt, which was sealed off by security agents on Friday.

Wike alleged that the product from the filling station is sourced from illegal refineries popularly known as kpo-fire.

Wike said he had told the security agencies that, “if I hear anything that any filling station is involved in oil bunkering, I will close down that filling station and therefore I have directed the security agencies to know who has that filling station in Diobu and arrest that person and we are going to prosecute the person.

“It doesn’t matter how highly placed that person is. Some of you should be used to teach a lesson.

“Time has come, we cannot allow oil bunkering, we can’t.”

Igwe, who was speaking about the sealing of his filling station on Friday, had described the action of the security agencies as “politically motivated.”

In a similar development, Governor Nyesom Wike has threatened to fight to finish anyone working with former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Uche Secondus.

According to reports by Dailypost, Wike issued the threat on Saturday at the flagging off ceremony of the construction of internal roads Omagwa, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The governor maintained he will “finish” anyone who pitches his tent with “enemies of the state”.

He said, “If anybody fights our system we will fight the person back.

“Let me tell you what you don’t understand in politics. The moment you claim to be working with us and tomorrow you shift to our enemy, we will take every might we have, we will even leave our enemy and finish you first.

“So all of you who are going back to Abuja to hold meetings with our enemies in the state, I’m going to finish you to the last.

“We removed a National Party Chairman who was not doing well. All of them were here, we all agreed, now they are going to Abuja to hold meetings with the man we removed, thinking that you will use that to fight us, we will crush them”.

Secondus is understood to be strong ally of presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar
