Effective representation: constituents hail Bayelsa rep, Obua, commends PDP delegates

Ogbia—Hon. Azibapu Fred Obua, lawmaker representing Ogbia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives has reiterated his commitment to sponsor more Bills and facilitate people-oriented infrastructural projects in Ogbia Kingdom.

Obua made the remarks at the sites of the improved all-in-one solar-powered street lights project in Imiringi community and the Ogu-Otuegwe-Anyama-Okodi-Emadike road project, both facilitated by him.

He appreciated the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for honouring his legislative advocacy by awarding the contracts to capable contractors. He said the projects when completed will complement the prosperous strides of Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State.

The lawmaker who is a former Commissioner of Special Projects in Bayelsa State and a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors pleaded with the host communities of the projects to own them up and work with the contractors to deliver in line with specifications.

Speaking on behalf of the host communities, Chief Bamekpar Otobo and Prof. Apuega Arikawei, in their separate remarks expressed heartfelt gratitude to the NDDC and Obua, promising that they will provide the enabling environment for the smooth completion of the projects.

Hon. Richmond Okirinya, Chief Ibokolo Olalibo-Osain and Comrade Onikobhasi Ozari in their remarks also praised Obua for his effecting quality representation.

They commended the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegates from Ogbia Local Government Area for their resolve to return him to the House of Representatives for delivery of greater democratic dividends.

Earlier, at Imiringi community, a representative of the NDDC, Mr. A. Diette, while handing over the project site, introduced the contractor to the community. He also commended Obua for facilitating projects to Ogbia Federal Constituency.

Speaking on behalf of the consulting firm’s engineers and surveyors at the Ogu-Otuegwe-Anyama-Okodi-Emadike road project, Engr. Preye Owei stated that they are on-site to certify the dimensions of the road for consequent construction and commended Obua for his efforts.
