I have never regretted being in the police force, says newly-promoted female inspector

Yenagoa—An officer of the Bayelsa State Police Command, Mrs. Akpolatimi Edith Abee has been promoted to the rank of Inspector of Police after sixteen years of service in the Force.

In a chat with mangrovepen.ng after her decoration on Thursday, Inspector Abee said the journey has been challenging but appreciated God for the new position.

According to her, despite the challenges that come with her job, she has never regretted her decision to serve the country, adding that she has done so to the best of her abilities in the past sixteen years.

Inspector Abee who hails from Amassoma in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State said she is proud of her feat in the Force, adding that not many police officers make it to the rank of inspector.

She said, “It has been quite a challenging journey for me but I give glory to the Almighty God for his faithfulness over the years in my career and I don’t regret my choice of career.

“I am proud of how far I’ve come and for this new position I’ve attained because not many female police officers make it this far in the Force.”

“I dedicate my promotion to God, my beloved husband, my late mother and other family members for their consistent support, prayers, and encouragement over the years.

“I also appreciate my boss in the Force, SP Asinim Butswat for his encouragement.”

She expressed excitement about her new role and the challenges ahead, saying “the new height means more responsibilities” and she is ready to take them.
