Diri commiserates with Ogba kingdom over late monarch’s demise

Omoku—Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has described the late king of Ogba land, Dr. Chukwumela Nnam Obi II, as an influential man who brought development to his people during his reign.

The Governor made this known during a condolence visit to the monarch’s palace on Saturday at Omoku in Ogba/Ndoni/Egbema Local Government Area of Rivers State.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, the Governor stated that the late monarch lived a good life and left lasting legacies that will stand the test of time.

He urged them to take consolation in the fact that the late king lived a meaningful life.

Diri, who used the occasion to congratulate the newly installed king on his ascension to the throne, noted that his visit is not only in his capacity as the Governor of Bayelsa State, but also as an in-law of Ogba land.

His words, “We know the late Oba led a good life. He was a man of integrity and character, who led with wisdom and knowledge. We pray that God will continue to shower His grace on you now that you have ascended the throne.

“The late king left a good legacy in you as the new Oba and your siblings. So we are consoled that even after his death, his legacies are speaking for him.

“We have come to commiserate and also congratulate you. We believe that the bond between Bayelsa and Ogbaland will get stronger.”

Responding, the newly installed king, while thanking the governor for his visit, commended him for his achievements since assuming office.
